Shafts of light
Javier Rodríguez Corpa, alias “Jr Korpa”, was born in Madrid in 1974. He had a happy childhood, in which his loving parents brought him up to respect Nature, as well as imparting social values. Like many children, Javier studied at Elementary and Middle School levels. But, as a boy, he felt a magnetic attraction to the aesthetic properties of images and sound. This led him to learn to play piano and devise harmony; and then later, to become involved in film and news editing. Currently, he works in television.
Javier’s father loved photography and taught him how to use an analog camera. Soon, he began experimenting with celluloid film, painting it with tea to change the tonal quality: he even built a small ‘pinhole’ camera.
Today, he lives in a small village on the Costa del Sol with his daughter and continues to compose music. When making trips abroad, he combines travel with his passion for photography. However, one of his principal concerns is the food we eat. “What we eat changes everything,” he says, from his own experience.
